Under the title ‘I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud’, Art Gallery O-68 shows paintings, sculptures, woven photo works and film by 5 artists.

What binds the artists is the role that the landscape plays in their work. They do not form a collective: admiration for and amazement about each other’s work has brought them together for this collaboration. They are five individual artists who each walk their own path, ‘lonely as a cloud’. The work for this exhibition has been selected and coordinated in mutual consultation. Prior to the exhibition, the artists regularly discussed and analyzed each other’s work in order to get a grip on the different working methods and points of view.

The landscape is an important source of inspiration for all five, albeit in different ways. As a field of research into the disappeared presence (Frans Beerens), starting point for material research in mainly steel (Ank van Engelen), a source of nourishment for reflections in oil paint and tempera (Jessica Knoot), as a riddle that needs to be understood (Huib Fens) and as a metaphor for the the irrevocable passing of time (Anne-Marie van den Thillart).
