Ingrid Rollema (1953) is a sculptor and focuses on people. She does this very literally through portraits, but also places them in a political context through ‘The Theater of the Wrong Decisions’ (www.TheatreofWrongDecisions.com). The exhibition will feature the complete oeuvre (video) of The Theater of the Wrong Decisions, together with recent sculptures. Ingrid studied sculpture in Rotterdam, studied International Law in Leiden and Applied Ethics at KU Leuven. She was director of the ‘Vrije Academie’ for 8 years. Ingrid’s sculptures are spread all over the world, both in public spaces and in private collections. Ingrid has been working with children for more than 30 years and at an academy for young talent in war zones in the Middle East, especially in Gaza. She is co-founder of  www.HOPE-Foundation.nl. She currently publishes literature from Gaza together with Uitgeverij Jurgen Maas.

The paintings of Casper Verborg (1981) reflect on the stories and connections between people and their environment. With large gestures and striking colors he creates seductive scenes. Although the images — beaches, swimwear, small groups of people — suggest everyday fun, this impression is quickly disrupted by an alienating atmosphere. The figures, who defy a threatening nature, function as symbols for humanity. They balance between hedonistic freedom and an underlying disaster. This is reinforced by the use of color: cheerful at first glance, but on closer inspection toxic and alarming. Verborg’s work evolved from enigmatic interiors to abstract, universal environments. This balance between man and nature, freedom and threat, continues to fascinate and challenge the viewer. His work is regularly seen in the Netherlands and abroad and has been purchased for various corporate collections.
